I cannot send emails using my Apple Mail client on my iMac. I get error messages saying that the SMTP server is not available. My ISP is Cox cable. The problem exists only on my iMac and goes away if I log onto either Cox or iCloud email in a browser and send from there. I can also send from my iMac if I use my iPhone's Wi-Fi and a hotspot connection. I went Spamhaus this morning and did find my IP address was blocked. I followed the unblocking instructions and got the IP address removed from the list but I still cannot send from my Mac.
1If your IP truly was blocked on a DNS-based blocklist, you may have to wait longer for removal to become effective. – Daniel B – 2019-01-23T22:39:18.663
Please edit your question for improved readability, using the 'Edit' link to the bottom left of the question. The title should be something like "Cannot send emails using MacOS Mojave Mail". Please rewrite the description, using two lines for new paragraphs, so that it's easier to read. Please include the exact error message, preferably on its own paragraph. I don't know what the answer is, but an easy-to-read question is more likely to get a good answer. – Christopher Hostage – 2019-01-23T22:51:20.393
This seems like a question for Cox tech support. – Spiff – 2019-01-24T00:08:08.700
