I have a RAID10 array on my Ubuntu 14.04 LTS server (4 drives).
mdadm reports one of my drives as having failed or dropped out of the array.
I am trying to determine if this drive is failing or whether I can place it back into the array.

No Errors Logged
SMART Self-test log structure revision number 1
No self-tests have been logged. [To run self-tests, use: smartctl -t]
I also ran a short self test since posting the above and got this:
Self-test execution status: ( 113) The previous self-test completed having
the read element of the test failed.
And this:
Num Test_Description Status Remaining LifeTime(hours) LBA_of_first_error
# 1 Short offline Completed: read failure 10% 21750 2983238792
I am pretty sure this drive is failing. But as this is all new to me I would just like some confirmation.
Possible duplicate of Steps to swap failed disk in RAID 10? – You already seem to have an answer to this since you’re asking about swapping it.
