How to force a monitor to be recognized as a Generic Non-PNP monitor in Windows?

I have an Insignia NS-19E310NA15 monitor.

Normally when I connect the monitor via VGA to my computer, my computer recognizes the monitor and limits the maximum resolution on the monitor to only 1366 x 768. However, sometimes, it doesn't detect the monitor and instead shows up as a Generic Non-PNP monitor. But now it lets me choose any resolution up to 1920 x 1080. The monitor has no trouble displaying it and it looks crisp and clean. How can I force windows to not detect the monitor's info so that it always goes to Generic Non-PNP? I like the 1920 x 1080 setting much more. Thanks.
