Error 0x8007025D when attempting to install Windows 10

0

Recently, I tried to upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 using the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft. I tried the "Install on this PC" option, but I got an error saying that it couldn't install .NET Framework 3.5.

Then, I decided to create an ISO from the Media Creation Tool and try again by putting the image on a USB drive. (My computer doesn't have an optical drive.) After trying this, I got error 0x8007025D when installing. Before trying this, I deleted every partition, so I can't roll it back either.

What should I do? I tried to run diskpart clean, but it wouldn't allow me.

Update: It would allow me to clean disk today for some reason, but it still won't install.

Check out this question. You said you formatted the disk, but it didn't work. Perhaps, according to the second answer there, the ISO you downloaded is corrupted; did you try downloading a new ISO and using that instead?

I formatted the disk after I downloaded ISO from Microsoft media tool, and then booted the ISO image on usb then I formatted drive before tryting to install and the error occurd. I had Windows 7 ultimate 64. Upgraded to windows10 using media tool from Microsoft upgrade this pc option. That went good, didnt have to give product key or activate win but I hadde some errors therefor I decided to download the win10 ISO image as stated. I can say I added a nvidia driver in the usb after making win10 bootable on it. But ive done this before without problems. The error code is in my first post – Kim Roar Trollsås – 2018-01-03T07:16:04.627

As I said, perhaps the ISO you downloaded may be corrupted. Did you try deleting the image on the flash drive, re-downloading the Windows 10 image, then putting the freshly-downloaded image onto the drive? – gparyani – 2018-01-03T08:44:38.840

Is it possible to download corrupt file from Microsoft media tool? I can give it a shot, No second pc here atm tho. – Kim Roar Trollsås – 2018-01-03T10:01:42.263

Occasionally, bits may be changed during the download process due to factors beyond your control. Just try it as soon as you get a second computer and see if it works. – gparyani – 2018-01-03T13:29:45.847

0x8007025D = ERROR_BAD_COMPRESSION_BUFFER. make sure the ISO not not corrupted. get a clean ISO not the self made on from media creation tool.
