windows 10 onenote crashes after opening camera

I have windows 10 onenote. After I click on "Insert->Picture->Camera", after few seconds, the program crashes and exits without opening the camera!

I am confused why this is happening. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling onenote, however, it doesn't help.

I was thinking maybe installing the older versions might be helpful. In the previous version (before updating onenote from Store), the camera was working perfect. I am wondering if I can have the previous version of onenote installed on my Microsoft Surface. So, having the setup file helps in checking this option. I could not find onenote for windows 10 setup file.

ANy idea how to fix this? P.S. The permission is given to onenote to access camera.

Have you looked over the Event Viewer for more verbose correlated detail? – Pimp Juice IT – 2017-10-20T19:44:09.267

@Facebook I posted the event viewer. Not sure what's the problem. – user784649 – 2017-10-21T02:37:17.030

See if this helps any: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_onenote-mso_win10/how-to-clear-cache-in-onenote-2016/d12ece70-80c0-48f5-bee1-dfd4b0de4820 ... for older versions it'll be the file warned about here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/onenoteofflinecacheonecache/d883775c-b257-4890-b1bc-18e8714258e9. Let me know if any of that helps but you may need to purge the cache to resolve so backup, delete, and test to confirm.

Thanks. As for the first link, I deleted the cache folder. However, that didn't help. As for the second link, there is no onenoteofflinecache.onecache file. I am wondering if this has anything to do with KERNELBASE.dll? – user784649 – 2017-10-21T03:45:43.743

Probably tons more stuff out there if you google "0xe06d7363 onenote 16" e.g. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_onenote-mso_windows8/onenote-2010-crash-on-sync-attempted-cache-rebuild/3ef3e83a-363c-44b6-97bf-860cf6865027?auth=1 . . . Run SFC /SCANNOW too and a chkdsk too perhaps just in case. . . Maybe this explains it some https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/185294/prb-exception-code-0xe06d7363-when-calling-win32-seh-apis

Thanks. I've already tried all the suggestions made for this error code. I also followed your instructions, however, no luck. I tried deleting the temp folder, checkdsk. deleting cache files. I am confused why this has happened and how to solve it. I am using onenote (Windows 10 version) and not the ones with office suite. Also, regarding your second link, I did not understand what it means! I think it is related to Microsoft Visual Studio. – user784649 – 2017-10-21T06:59:32.167
