Trying to remove Google Drive Shortcut

0

I was trying to add Google Drive to my windows 7 explorer and found your website and the one below it with downloadable REG files (32 and 64 bit).

I backed up (or thought I had!) my registry and then ran the 64 bit registry file, and an entry for Google Drive was added to my explorer but nothing happens when I click it. So I decided to try and remove this.

I then tried to run the 'grdive-undo.reg' that was in the zip file but get an error saying --> "cannot import, file is not a registry script"

I had tried to back up my registry before running this script, trying to use File, Export functionality from regedit.exe. but when I try to restore the file I backed up, I get the error--> "Error accessing the registry", and then it stops

I realize I may have done something incorrectly above and am not sure you can help, but I thought I'd give it a try!

1You know this is not the website where you got the article from? (Since you were saying "your website and the one below it".) – slhck – 2017-08-17T12:28:04.153

Maybe all the explorer settings are not kept in the registry. Tried looking at the registry file you added and the file that was supposed to delete it, find the key(s), then manually delete those keys with a registry editor (regedit still exists)? – Xen2050 – 2017-08-21T04:01:11.563
