Is there a way to make a usb/sd card/rewritable media read only?

0

I ask this because i want something to be as such and here is the situation i believe that might make this possible.

I used a usb in a mac, pulled it without ejecting, it became read only. I tried to do EVERYTHING to it. Even going so far as to use professional partition and usb management software (idk wjat its called just that it can make a usb read as a hdd or vice versa, it is powerful) and nothing would remove the read-only status.

I also tried changing the status on a mac and it didnt work.

Whoops. Ok wall of text cause im on mobile. The drive was a usb, formatted as fat32 for cross compatability. The issue is that it was locked as a read only state, i could not add the write permission to the drove no matter what. I tried multiple software and command line code to add the write permission, it iddnt work, i tried using the command line on mac and the built in read/write permission changing on mac. It didnt work. – user56843 – 2017-08-06T05:25:20.380

If you want help beyond what is listed in the duplicate then you need to tell us exactly what you have tried, what that did (if anything) and any other relevant information such as drive type and information. – Mokubai – 2017-08-06T07:28:20.553
