Windows 10 Password

0

I have Windows 10 and it has recently begun asking me for a password. I couldn't figure out why until I realized my son got an Xbox and used my Microsoft account to sign in. I uninstalled Xbox from my PC and have followed all of the instructions I can find to disable the password. I have typed "netplwiz" and unchecked the box that says to require password. I have gone to settings>accounts>sign in options and told it to never ask me for a password. Yet it STILL asks for a password and its the Microsoft account password my son uses for Xbox.... Please help! Thanks in advance!

First step, disconnect the Microsoft Account and create a new local account, I have documented this process, in detail before – Ramhound – 2017-04-19T22:57:30.537

Your son should use his own account. If he is young enough you should probably consider setting it up as a child account so that you can manage play time, acceptable content ratings, and the like. – music2myear – 2017-04-19T23:02:41.617

1Xbox Family Settings Page, has all the information required to set up child accounts correctly. – Michael Frank – 2017-04-19T23:11:56.180

Thanks guys. Ramhound's solution worked for me. Still not sure how my son signing in from an Xbox made it's way to my desktop though. But, problem solved. Thanks again! – Kevin Reed – 2017-04-21T12:48:43.883
