I know this thread has been posted several times online, but none of the solutions I've researched have been working for me.
I have been trying to install Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 for a week to no avail. Some of the methods I've used include:
Turn Windows Features On/Off
Running
DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /All /LimitAccess /Source:installationMediaDrive:\sources\sxs
in Administrative Command Prompt
Important to note is that I do have .Net Framework 4.6 installed from the Anniversary Update, so I don't know if that's interfering with the installation. I think my registry database is corrupted though. If anyone needs the dism log file, let me know and I'll send it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
4.6 and 3.5 can co-exist without a problem. Provide the install error log – Ramhound – 2016-12-31T20:14:31.077

– Ramhound – 2016-12-31T20:26:03.547I don't know if the order of the commands matter: I've always used
Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /All /Source:E:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess
to enable this feature in 8.1 and 10, and never had problems. – Jesús Hagiwara – 2016-12-31T20:33:07.687if you use Anniversary Update, you also need the Anniversary Update ISO: http://superuser.com/a/1108086/174557
