windows 10 mail not syncing

I just got a new laptop and I went to set up my 3 email accounts and they all set up completely fine.

Then I went onto each one of them and my 2 personal accounts were synced and are absolutely fine, but when I went onto my school account (which of course is my most important account) and it wasn't syncing. So far I have tried:

  • clicking on the refresh button
  • inputing my email and password again
  • fixing the account settings are out of date message
  • deleting the account and adding it once again
  • restarting computer
  • ensuring all the latest updates are installed

Can anyone suggest what else I should try to solve this issue?

If the emails have been deleted from the server then the mail app cannot retrieve them. They might be in the deleted items section of the mailbox, if the server has one. Have you tried sending a test email to the school account to see if it works? – Andrew Morton – 2016-12-27T18:39:11.450

@AndrewMorton I have sent a test email to the school account but it only came through on my phone because my laptop wouldn't sync my mail it is not getting any mail through and it also doesn't sync my deleted items mail. – Sophie – 2016-12-27T20:43:44.177
