I continually try to save my Word document. However, when I click save, it does not save; and when I click save as and set it to my desktop (so I can see what's going on), it creates a document called something like "WordWorkFileD_834791836.tmp". The italicised numbers constantly change; and after about a second, it self-deletes. Can someone tell me what is going on?

1Which version of Microsoft Word? Does it happen with every document you try to save (for example, a new empty document)? Do you get an error message? – Atzmon – 2016-11-01T11:03:18.010
Can you copy the text to a new document and save it there? Have you run a virus scan? Is a macro active in the document? – user 99572 is fine – 2016-11-10T21:30:38.620
