From my PC, there is a remote connection to a PC in another country. That PC has access towards a virtual computer, which is connected to via VMWare software. As that virtual machine is part of the remote network, I can't open it at my PC.
The problem is that the taskbar of that remote virtual PC is not visible in the VMWare window, and there seem to be problems with that virtual PC. So, I'd like to open the "settings viewer" application on that virtual PC, in order to start up the event viewer or to run some diagnostic tools.
I only have access to a command prompt and scheduled tasks (the latter is not important, I guess).
Does anybody know how I can open the settings on that PC, just using the command prompt?

I don't know what settings you're talking about.

would allow you to run the Task Manager.eventvwr.msc
would allow you to start the Event Viewer. Is it a server? It might just not have the Desktop Experience installed, a windows version that is "GUI less" in a loose sense. Also check this KB.CTRL + R > "control" for control panel? – adampski – 2016-10-05T10:22:39.787

You can open almost all of the control panel settings and other interesting programs from the command line. See List of Run Commands in Windows 7 and 8. Without more information about exactly what settings you are trying to access we can't answer the question. Please [edit[ and be more explicit.
