I feel sure I successfully created PDF documents from Word documents some years ago, using an older version of Foxit. But now when I try to do the same, Foxit crashes. Any advice?

What happens if you choose ".PDF" in the Save as dialog in Office programs? that's a built-in option. – w32sh – 2016-07-24T09:59:04.797
I am sure that would work but I use Word 2000 which has no PDF option. Saving as RTF or HTML does not help, this also crashes Foxit Reader - and, alarmingly, triggers an attempt by Foxit Reader to modify my registry. – Oozoid – 2016-07-25T10:58:42.313
that's interesting. I'm using Office 2000 and have the ".PDF" option in the Save as dialog box. If repairing Office doesn't bring back te option, then you may give CutePDF PDF printer as shot.

Perhaps you have Acrobat installed? Foxit's plug-in works only from Office 2007 (or so the Foxit Reader user manual says). In the meantime I have discovered that the Foxit PDF printer option does what I need, and Foxit are looking into why – Oozoid – 2016-07-26T16:25:57.430
No I don't have Adobe Reader installed... For printing to PDFs I use MS Print to PDF in my Windows 10 systems, and Cute PDF writer in other PCs. – w32sh – 2016-07-26T16:30:08.727
Sorry, I hit return and sent an incomplete comment. Can you please clarify, are you able to use the Foxit Reader 'create from file' option to convert a Word document into PDF? – Oozoid – 2016-07-26T16:33:58.100
