Can't open USB floppy drive

I have bought USB Floppy Drive but unable to use it.

Windows says

enter image description here

The reason why I think it may be programmatic reason, is that antivirus can test this disk and report number of files tested.

UPDATE

There are multiple following errors in Windows log:

The description for Event ID 7 from source sfloppy cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\Device\Floppy0

2How many different disks have you tried? What happens if you try to format one of them before using it? – Ƭᴇcʜιᴇ007 – 2016-05-09T19:28:10.027

Its weird the AV can read the disc and scan the files... – Moab – 2016-05-09T19:45:35.913

@Ƭᴇcʜιᴇ007 I tried several and found similar behavior, including this message, explorer freezing and so on. – Dims – 2016-05-09T21:09:23.350

Is this a new drive or a second-hand one? – Burgi – 2016-05-09T23:13:55.977

Run chkdsk /r command for that drive.

Please open the Disk Management and check if a drive letter is assigned to the floppy drive. Please follow these steps:

  1. Press “Windows Logo” + “X” keys on the keyboard and select “Disk Management” from that list.

  2. You should be able to see the hard disk partitions and the removable drives connected to the computer in the Disk Management.

  3. Check if you have any drives without any drive letters assigned to it.

  4. If you have floppy drive listed there without a drive letter, then you may assign the drive letter (A) to it and check if that is shown in “This PC” now and then try to access it from the “Windows Explorer”.

If it persists, try to uninstall and Reinstall the Floppy Disk Drivers from the Device Manager:

  1. Press “Windows Logo” + “X” keys on the keyboard.

  2. Click on “Device Manager” from that list.

  3. Search for the Floppy Disk device from the device list, right click on it and then select “Uninstall”. On the un-installation window, if you have an option: “Delete the driver software for this device” you may select that and then remove the corrupted drivers from the computer.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete it and the restart the computer if prompted.

  5. While the computer is shutting down, you may unplug the device and then re-plug the device once the WindowS is loaded on the computer.

  6. Again go to “Device Manager” and then click on the “Scan for hardware changes” button.

  7. Check if Windows detects the Floppy Disk device and installs an appropriate driver automatically.
