"Access denied" message when investigating driver in Process Explorer

0

I have a virgin installation of Vista Home Premium 32 with a 100% CPU usage problem arising from svchost hosting taskeng.exe doing some unknown thing. I know that this is due to some driver malfunction but as soon as try to explore it further in Process Explorer I get an "access denied" message. I'm going nuts. How do I get around this, please?

2Try using ProcessExplorer from an Admin account – DavidPostill – 2016-01-11T18:59:49.170

Did you run Process Explorer "As Administrator"? – Ƭᴇcʜιᴇ007 – 2016-01-11T19:34:14.100

Select 'Show Details for all Processes' on the File menu. – David Marshall – 2016-01-11T19:51:27.013

Yes, I did use an admin account when I request details I get the "access denied" slap in the face. – MarGrove – 2016-01-12T20:21:44.253

Anyway this business was eating up my time so I copped out and reinstalled Vista with only the basic drivers. – MarGrove – 2016-01-12T20:24:09.957
