I just ordered an SSD, 850 evo (NOT 840 EVO) from Samsung and installed it in my computer. Before, my Windows 8.1 was on an HDD, now i'm using it for storage. I installed Windows 8.1 on the SSD and got everything ready (OS, apps, settings...). I installed Samsung Magician (a utility for Samsung SSDs). Looking through this program, i found RAPID Mode, saying that it enhances overall system performance.
Is this safe to be enabled?
Yes; it is safe; if it wasn't safe you wouldn't be able to enable it – Ramhound – 2015-12-14T18:10:14.403
Sure, i can enable it. But would it decrease my read/write speed of my ssd? – Acrylic – 2015-12-14T21:24:33.063
this RAPID mode is crap. Don't use it: http://superuser.com/a/742768/174557

This isn't a duplicate. My SSD is a 850 evo not 840 evo (question above is edited). 850 is newer than 840, using different technologies too (like V-NAND). Isn't there supposed to be a difference between those two? – Acrylic – 2015-12-15T16:29:49.620
One of my users has a Samsung 850 which I gave him with Windows 10 and RAPID mode... really quick. We turned it off while troubleshooting other problems, and the perceived speed didn't change. In other words, don't turn it on, it's useless for real world speed. Additionally, there were other problems that started after turning it off, so it's best to never turn RAPID on. – Christopher Hostage – 2016-04-26T18:08:14.057
