I was reading on the site and saw that kno3 can be used along with H2SO4 to make NG. I was wondering if Kno3 is a reasonable substitute so nitric acid in nitrating things such as starch, cork, heximine, etc.
I also have a question concerning making NG. Afew posts on here said not to use a thermometer as this could create an explosion. How can I measure the temperature of my solution. Maybe use one of those IR thermometers or not use one at all and simple add glycerine slowly very slowly letting things cool off then starting up agin?
