I read a little about EMP bombs and at least I can say I understand basic concept.
One post trigered the idea...could FCG be used as energy source for EMP bomb charging? Then we would have two separate explosions, first armes the bomb (and gass produced can be used as propulsion for guiding rocket motor), second release the EM puls burst. Somehow I find this more reliable construction then electrical sources of other kind.
Opinions?
If you find the idea to stupid feel free to delete the thread.

I dont think its a stupid idea but probably not the best thing to post in 'Battle chemistry'.

2 things make me think it wouldnt be a massive step forward, firstly the pulse sounds very short and it worries me that it would take longer to build up the field in the EMP before detonation. Secondly that the FCG needs a more whimpy power supply to build up its feild before detonation in order to extract decent power from its x kilograms of explosive and I dont see why this is automatically an improvement over using a different design of EMP that uses the whimpy power supply directly and adds the x kg's of FCG explosive to the EMP.

Thanks Marvin. It was just one of mine ideas as chemist...I trust more explosives than electronic circuits;)
I agree with your arguments.
