OMG. According to the local news, 3.5 tonnes of AN was stolen today. It may likely be a clerical error and not theft, but if it is theft it's a bit of a concern. Supposedly the AN went missing from and Adelaide warehouse. The state government has just said that AN needs to be licenced and restricted. Most things our government says never eventuate, but this licencing probably will. Hopefully this doesnt end up in a big truckbomb going off in the city.

OK, so someone steals bloody 3,5tonnes of ammoniumnitrate from a warehouse in the middle of the city and they have to consult the books to notice it?
The sheeple wants to be protected by restrictive laws but doesn't notice obvious things...

Blatant evidence that the terrorists will get the materials they want for explosives, restrictions or not.
It's the recreational user that suffers, and I wouldn't be surprised if restrictions are going to be put in place in the UK after last weeks raids.
The trouble is, it's all about making the sheeple feel safer, rather than actually making them safer. Until the great mindless masses become enlightened (ie never) then restrictions like this will continue to be pushed through to please them.

The current hysteria about AN is bordering on the absurd in Australia.
Why they are ramping up the terrorist threat so much I just don't get.
Journalists in this country are a disgrace! Printing lies on top of lies, worst part is none of the public even raise thier heads from the grass.

Two of the major fertiliser companies are no longer going to produce / import AN once their current stocks run out. (In Australia, just on a news bulliten on Triple J radio...)
I imagine it's purely because they can't be arsed going through and sorting the licences etc that will soon be firmly in place.

just the like the firearm laws.
All the responsible shooters lose their right to have a firearm in their house, yet shootings have gone up. Funny that

Try to outlaw guns, next thing you know we have a massacre. It gave them a reason to really push it. Gun laws passed. Try to outlaw AN, next thing you know we have tonnes of it stolen. A bit too convenient for me. Food for Thought.
