Well i was board today and feeling really stupid so i decided to post this here being as i dont have enough psots anywhere else to post it in the proper section.


OK think about this is isnt a bad idea. It would make for a more stable APAN mixture.

What you do is simple just make up a regular batch of AP puddy using Nitrocellulouse and AP and add in a little AN but the problem with it is. I don't know if AN will disolve in Acetone or not and at the moment I don't have any to test it on. I don't know where to look to see if AN is soluable in acetone eather. As far as I can tell though if this does work it would prove to be a much more stable than standard APAN.

It would probably make I nice booster charge for when more exotic ones are more dificult to obtain or make. Just a thought.

I know this is probably a stupid topic but not a bad Idea if it will work. I'm sure several other fourm members have already though of this but I have as of yet seen it posted anywhere.

Please don't flame me I know its probably not one of my better ideas. I dont have a lot of experience with HE's and I won't be messing with them till I have more knowlege on them.

I would think AN wouldn't dissolve in Acetone. Remember - Like dissolves like (polarity of the molecule).

I was somewhat going off of this same idea when I decided to mix my AN with DBSP laquer. I was left with a gray powder. Now if you were to make some ANAP and then bond it together with a large amount of somewhat goopy AP putty I think you would be left with a block, or stick, or whatever of ANAP that would be fuse sensative. At thew moment i dont have any DBSP besides whats already coating my AN and i dont have any DPPP to test this but it should work. ill try it someday soon and then ill post pictures and such on my site (im still makin it. if you havent tried this within the next two weeks then find one of my posts and get my site addy off of my info. i should have pics and such up two weeks from now at the very most)

the AN doesnt have to dissolve in the acetone, you've read rat bastards section, right?

you make the putty, and leave it for a week or some time. then you gotta rol it into a ball/what ever shepe your heart desires you can just add some powdered AN at this stage i believe, for lack of dbl base powder ATM i cant try this, next week i will hopefully

Are you refering to Rats section over on Krimzon Pyro if you are then yes? If your refering to a section he has here then probably not. I dont recall seeing a section about this here but its been a long time sence i been here. I've only been back here after about 1yr for a week or so.

Watching you trying to roll AN into AP putty that has been left out for a week would be... amusing...

Also, you'd never have enough NC binding the AP to hold an additional 90% of AN. Better just to mix it up together in the first place.

Good job this was posted in the Water Cooler - it would have gotten locked anywhere else, it's been done before and is pretty obvious...

I think it could be done with 50/50 APAN. I know that Noltair has been able to bind APAN with rubber cement.
