Mullah Krekar

Krekar came to Norway with his family in 1991 as a quota refugee, and was since imprisoned for making threats against public officials. Although he was supposed to be extradited to Iraq, because the likelihood of torture is high there, the order was suspended.
In July 2019, Krekar was sentenced to 12 years' prison by an Italian court for planning terror attacks. Italian prosecutors maintained Krekar led a terror group called Rawti Shax,
