Maulana Karenga
Dr. Maulana Karenga (born Ron Everett) is a political activist and black nationalist who was active during the Black Power movement and the inventor of Kwanzaa. He founded Organization Us, a black nationalist movement. He was also convicted of felony assault after he took two women from the college campus, made them take off their clothes, and beat them with electrical cords and karate batons.[1][2] He holds two PhDs.
