Jesus Chatline

Jesus Chatline was a livestream/webseries that parodied televangelism. It ran from 2011 to 2012 and was hosted by Richard Burnish and Steven Chilton, who ran a fictional branch of Christianity called "The Church of the Neon Bible." The series became notorious for its near-constant prank calling courtesy of 4chan (and 9gag).

Characters

The Main Team

  • Richard Burnish is the bearded Jesus-look-alike of the show and the host, who also wrote the Neon Bible. He was an alcoholic construction worker in Alabama before he met Chilton and started the Jesus Chatline. He vanished from the internet after the show's end but came back in 2018 to give his condolences to Steven's death. In April of 2020, he came back on twitch for the Sequel of the Jesus Chatline called "The Ark"
  • Steven Chilton was the co-host of the show. He was a trucker before he met Burnish and started the Jesus Chatline. He did another trucker themed call-in show called Haulin' Ass with T Rucker. He would often ban people in his chat for mentioning the Jesus Chatline or Richard Burnish. Sadly in late 2018, he passed away of cancer, ending HaulinAss.
  • Chad is the unseen technical operator/producer for the show until the prequel episode where he is shown with Richard and Steven.

gollark: Similarly, knowledge of headquarter relocation does !NOT! imply knowledge of where it's going to/from.
gollark: Yes it is. You knowing that, say, an orbital bee strike is inbound, doesn't make you safe from the orbital strike.
gollark: GTech™ has *much* better apinators than LyricTech™, obviously.
gollark: Fine, firing contraapioforms.
gollark: GTech™ also has weather influence systems via advanced software-defined optics systems in Earth orbit, and obviously the orbital lasers/cryoapioform beams, but it's still quite irritating to have to restabilize all the chaotic systems involved.
