Charles Chilton Moore

Charles Chilton Moore (1837—1906) was an American atheist who founded one of the first newspapers promoting atheism in the country, The Blue Glass Blade which he was only able to publish on a sporadic basis due to legal issues. Moore, in an age of religious idiocy spent time in prison for his opposition to religion in 1899, on the pretext of promoting "free love". Moore's grandfather was Barton W. Stone, a prominent figure in the history of Christianity in the United States. To this day, Moore is often credited as being one of the fathers of American atheists as well as one of the most influential.

He was dubbed Kentucky's Most Hated man for pointing out the hypocrisy and idiocy of religion and the influence it has on society and political issues. Moore also had a large thick beard, which kicked God's beard's ass.
