Cancer Treatment Centers of America

Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) is a multi-faceted approach to providing cancer patients with treatments. These treatments range from conventional oncology approaches such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy to pretty much whatever woo gets the patients' money flowing.

CTCA "offers advanced technologies and treatments, including surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. We also help you fight side effects with supportive therapies like pain management, nutrition therapy, naturopathic medicine, oncology rehabilitation, mind-body medicine, and spiritual support—all in one location."[1] CTCA is one of the few places where naturopaths can pretend do a residency in "natural" oncology in order to eventually get "board certified" in naturopathic oncology, like for example the naturopathic oncologist, Michael Uzick, who imported illegal cancer medications and used them on his patients.

They are known for their television ads featuring survivors of their treatment using poor enunciation and emotional pleas to distinguish them from the regular "mean and nasty" doctors in "normal hospitals". They are also known for getting sued by the Federal Trade Commission for said ads.[2] CTCA has reported unsupportable survival statistics, which are inflated from carefully selecting their patients prior to accepting them for treatment.[3]
