Bourgeois pseudoscience
Bourgeois pseudoscience was an epithet used by the Soviets, especially the Stalinists, to dismiss any science that was inconvenient to their ideology. The most infamous case of this was when genetics and Darwinian evolution were declared to be "bourgeois pseudosciences" and scientists adhering to these theories were shipped off to the gulags while Lysenkoism was practiced in preference. Other natural and social sciences labeled as "bourgeois pseudoscience" included cybernetics, sociology, and comparative linguistics.
