Java Edition:Painting with NBT

The different painting types are normally only displayed randomly when placing the painting item on a block, however, in 23w13a_or_b it is possible to obtain paintings with distinct NBT data, otherwise only possible in creative mode.

Obtaining

If the player votes for fish_anything and it succeeds, any item that appear in creative inventory(excluding the Operator items) can be fished up, including items with NBT data. This means that 27 painting variations can be obtained, these include:

  • Painting (generic)
  • Kebab med tre pepperoni
  • de_aztec
  • Albanian
  • de_aztec (same name as above but different painting, the two won't stack)
  • Target Successfully Bombed
  • Paradisträd
  • Wasteland
  • Wanderer
  • Graham
  • The Pool
  • Bonjour Monsieur Courbet
  • sunset_dense
  • Seaside
  • Creebet
  • Match
  • Bust
  • The Stage Is Set
  • The void
  • Skull and Roses
  • Wither
  • Fighters
  • Changing
  • Mortal Coil
  • Kong
  • Pointer
  • Pigscene
  • Skull On Fire

These can be fished much faster if the buff_fishing vote is also approved. There are 4 other paintings (Earth, Wind, Fire, Water) but they are under the Operator tab, and therefore cannot be fished. If the paintings are placed and then broken, they will lose any NBT data they had and become generic paintings.
