Java Edition:Long Duration Resistance Effect
Mobs spawned from super hostile storms in the April Fools' update 2.0 would spawn with Resistance 1 for 1,000,000 ticks. This effect can be applied to any mob with the usage of exploding creepers generating lingering effect clouds from 16w32a onwards.
Obtaining
In 2.0 red and 2.0 purple, every 40 to 90 seconds a super hostile storm would activate. When this occurs, creepers, zombies, skeletons, and zombie pigmen appear and lightning strikes them. Creepers from these storms must then be sent through a nether portal to prevent their despawning. These creepers must be kept loaded within the despawn radius of the player at all times until upgrading to a version where name tags may be obtained and used to set persistence. Keeping these mobs stored safely is most easily accomplished by unloading their location by switching dimensions, so this is best to perform in an area of your world that you do not load for any other reason. These mobs must be loaded in a version from 13w16a (1.6 snapshot) to 15w32c (1.9 snapshot) to set the HealF tag so that the mobs do not instantly die upon updating beyond 15w32c. Finally, in 16w32a (1.11 snapshot) and above, these stored charged creepers may be exploded to generate a lingering effect cloud, which allows for any entity that can receive status effects to gain the long duration Resistance effect.
This effect can last up to 999,968 ticks (~13.8 hours), if the creeper is instantly transported to another dimension upon spawning, and instantly begins ignition upon loading in newer versions.
Important Note with Effects
If the Resistance effect is given to the player in versions below 1.15.2 Pre-Release 1, but with a higher level than 1, when the higher level's duration expires, the long Resistance 1 effect will be cleared as well. Thus, one should be careful with Resistance 2 beacons and turtle master potions.
