Java Edition:Invalid Mob Wearing Carved Pumpkin

Normally, carved pumpkins can only be equipped on players, armor stands, mobs with CanPickUpLoot:1b, and certain mobs during Halloween. However, the April Fools' snapshot 22w13oneBlockAtATime allows for equipping carved pumpkins on every living entity.

Obtaining

In the April Fools' version 22w13oneBlockAtATime, if a carved pumpkin is thrown at a mob, or into the air above a mob, the carved pumpkin will be equipped on the mobs helmet armor slot once it hits the mob.

Mine a carved pumpkin to pick it up. Once the block has been broken, the player will hold it in their main hand. It can be swapped to the offhand using the F key. If the block is in the players main hand, the block can be thrown by right-clicking in the direction the player is facing.

Observability

Carved pumpkins that have been equipped in this way are directly observable on some. For the mobs that do not render the helmet slot, or that can naturally spawn wearing a carved pumpkin, the player can kill the mob in an attempt to have the carved pumpkin drop, making this feature destructively observable, or observable at the cost of destroying the discontinued feature. These carved pumpkins do not have a guaranteed chance to drop, having a drop chance of 0.085f (8.5%) without Looting, and up to 0.115f (11.5%) with Looting 3. This is different than mobs that can spawn with or be given carved pumpkins normally, which have drop chances of 0.0f (0%) and 2.0f (the item will always drop undamaged), respectively. The pumpkin, if dropped, will be a BlockStateTag item.
