Wheat crops as an item was obtainable in Beta 1.6 Test Build 3. When placed it will be the lowest growth level of wheat. They were then removed in 13w37a (a 1.7 snapshot). As a result, this is a deleted feature. Wheat crops will disappear from all inventories upon updating to 13w37a.

In Beta 1.6 Test Build 3, any newly generated world would contain up to 11 debug chests with every item in the game. The crops item was obtainable in the chests 3rd and 6th from the left in the 1st and 12th slots respectively, in stacks of 64.
