About Me

I live, work and play in San Luis Obispo, CA. I just started working at iFixit. I'm new to California and am slowly settling into life here. Prior, I lived, worked and played in the Gifford-Pinchot National forest as a Challenge Course Manager at the Cispus Learning Center.

Before working at Cispus I volunteered as a Cispus AmeriCorps member. Cispus AmeriCorps volunteers serve rural East Lewis County in Washington State where they serve primarily as tutors and mentors. The team is also responsible for the Morton Teen Center and the Packwood Open Gym, providing drop-in recreational facilities to disadvantaged youth in the area.

I graduated from Western Washington University (Bellingham, WA) with a B.A. in Business Administration.

Ideas I Agree With

"Trying to be happy by accumulating possessions is like trying to satisfy hunger by taping sandwiches all over your body." - George Carlin

My Hobbies

I enjoy new experiences of all sizes and shapes. Currently, I'm getting back into racquetball. I'm horrible at chess but love to play. I was vice president of the chess club despite my skill level. I've been known to hike, run, and kayak for fun. I'm one of those minimalist runners/hikers.

Startburst™ Is My Favorite Candy, But I Don’t Eat It Anymore

During college, my friend Max and I embarked on a ridiculous art project. We decided to leverage our Starbursts eating, wrapper folding and wrapper chaining skills to something more substantial than the typical growing candy wrapper attack whip. Originally wanting to create a pixelated version of the Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa (my idea), Max and I chose the Seattle skyline as our subject. What must have accumulated to hundreds of man hours, thousands of calories, love handles and that cavity I got filled two years later, Max and I finished a tribute to not only Startburst™, but to the late franchise of the Seattle Sonics. You be the judge if it was a complete waste of time or not, I'm undecided.
