Hello! My name is Jacob Byron and I'm a junior from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth majoring in Computer Science with a minor in game design.

Ever since I was young, I have always had an interest in technology and with games. I loved playing them and I knew growing up that I'd want to make games for others to experience the same magic I feel in them.

In my freshman year at Umass Dartmouth, our final project for Computer Science was to mod an existing game and implement more characters and enemies. The project was by far the most fun and enlightening task I've done so far and I know that game development is something I want to pour my passion into when I graduate.

During an internship with the City of Marlborough, I had the pleasure to build and repair laptops for schools. The experience has taught me how much technology we throw away on a regular basis and how we can recycle parts to keep old technology relevant to today's standards.

Until I graduate, I want to make an iFixit guide to educate both myself and others about how technology works and how to keep their devices functioning. Technology can be very expensive, so it's important to keep your equipment in peak condition. I hope to share that lesson with others through guides on iFixit.
