Hello! My name is Phil and I'm studying computer science at UNO. Several years ago I put my studies on pause to move to Brooklyn for what ended up lasting 8 years. At the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, I decided to return to my hometown of New Orleans and pick back up where I left off with my degree.
My time in a big city like NY inspired me in so many various ways within my life. From the street culture, visual arts, music and skateboarding; it truly is the city that is constantly evolving and a mecca for cultural influence of all kinds. I was happy working in "third-wave" coffee shops but being around such massive infrastructure and corporate office buildings made me what to take the idea of making a career out of something more seriously. So, I took one step back to take many more in the future.
I'm not sure which direction I will go within the world of computer science but I could see myself getting into video game design. I like to draw and play a ton of PC games myself, so I could see that being a place my creative side could definitely come to light. I've attached a picture of a recent drawing I did. I also find digital forensics super interesting but I know I'll find my direction when the time comes.
If I'm not doing something for school or at work, I'm more than likely hanging out with my dog River; see photo on the left. He's a two year-old blue heeler and is nothing but a big ball of energy. His favorite thing is for you throw him a tennis ball!
