Introduction
Hello!
My name is Jackson Conger. I am currently a third year student at University of California, Davis. There I am studying Biomedical Engineering, with a specialization in Biomechanics. I chose this major with the future goal in mind to develop cost effective and long lasting medical products in order to improve quality of life for as many as I can, and reduce medical inequity.

Past Project Experience
Though I have pursued many different projects, one of my proudest is designing and building my own desk. The first iteration of my desk consisted of a frame made of square steel tubing, a cedar desk top, a single drawer, and channeling for computer wires. This project gave me an opportunity to learn how to weld, which has since become one of my favorite tools in my belt. It also gave me valuable experience in designing in 3 dimensions and thinking ahead about the functionalities I wanted out of a project. An example of this is knowing that I may want to change the desk top in the future, so in turn my design factored in the ability to swap desktops easily.
Another fun project of mine was refurbishing a 1990 Ford Econoline camper van. In this project I added efficient lighting, replaced and refinished wall paneling, replaced water lines, laid wood flooring, and ensured the viability of the appliances. Though frustrating and confusing at times, this project was a lot of fun and taught me some new skills. This project taught me how to do some basic 12V circuitry, how to work with water lines, and how to template and cut paneling.
Maintenance Experience
Aside from what has been listed in my projects, other experience of mine includes but is not limited to:
- Replacing an auto-tensioner for the serpentine belt in my car
- Installation of new studs, drywall, circuitry, and water lines in my home
- Computer building and troubleshooting
- Mending/tailoring clothing
Accolades
- Engineering Dean's List, Winter 2023
Hobbies
My hobbies and skills go hand in hand, aside from maybe a few. I love creating things that serve a purpose in my life, and often my listed skills are utilized. One of my other hobbies is fashion; I love to express myself in my clothing, especially with vintage or preloved items. Photography, particularly of nature and animals, is another hobby of mine, and since you've read this far here's some of my favorite photos!
