About Me
My name is Chase Keighley. I'm a 3rd year computer science student at University of California, Davis. I am also enrolled in Air Force ROTC at Sacramento State University, and I plan on graduating and commissioning as an officer into the United States Air Force in 2025.
Career Aspirations
As previously mentioned, I desire to become an officer in the Air Force after graduation. I want to work as a cyber operations officer. This career field entails planning, designing, maintaining, and operating information networks and systems required for a unit’s operations. I would also be in charge of providing cyber-related solutions to operational problems, creating policies, and advising commanders on cyberspace issues. I may or may not stay in the Air Force for longer than the required four years. After that, I may attempt to continue my career managing cyber systems as a civilian contractor for the Air Force, or get a job at a tech company.
Repair Experience
I have not had much repair experience. I have occasionally observed others go through their methods of repairing items, however I do not have as much experience making repairs myself. I am interested in learning how to fix common everyday items that may break, such as clothing.
Projects
I have done many programming projects through my academic coursework including designing a simple shell and thread library. One physical project I have undertaken is designing and constructing a model train layout. This project requires multiple materials and hands-on skills such as woodcutting, gluing, measuring, sculpting, and painting. I am relatively new to the model train hobby and am enjoying learning these skills along the way!
