Hello! My name is Steven Duke. I am a senior at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. I am graduating in May with a Mechanical Engineering degree. I chose this degree path, as I like working with my hands on a daily basis. Being one of the widest range of tasks you can do with a ME degree, I chose to run with it. Once I graduate, I hope to work in a manufacturing facility to be either a Manufacturing or Process Engineer.

This is a car that I purchased wrecked in the summer of 2021. Over the past summer my dad and myself worked to get the car painted and fixed. After getting the car painted there was other problems. One of the main was the transmission needed rebuilt. Before this point I never worked inside a transmission, so this was a daunting task. This taught me to be patient with every step, without patience, parts could easily be broken. As for the body work side, patience is key so that the end result turns out as you want it to be.

Here is the finished product after several weekends of work. Taking the engine, transmission and subframe out of a car in the driveway was difficult. Timing chains were put in the engine and the transmission was rebuilt. This whole process was completed on my own. This is one of my biggest achievements to date. I took this car that would have been sent to a junkyard, and turned it into something I am proud to call mine.
