Will Gunter

Hello! I'm Will Gunter, a Junior at the University of Delaware.

At the University of Delaware, I am majoring in Computer Science with a concentration in Systems and Networks. I am also minoring in Theater Production. I am a member of UD's Honor College and the national honor fraternity Phi Sigma Pi.

Eventually, I want to pursue a Master's degree in Computer Science and work as a Software Engineering. I have been accepted to an internship at the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab this summer (Summer 2023) and would love to continue to work in the aerospace industry after I graduate.

One of my favorite projects I have worked on is a custom Unix Shell (written in C) for my Operating Systems course. It contains many built-in commands and operates very similarly to the shell built into many other operating systems.

I worked with a partner to develop this shell over the course of a week for an intense study of how unix shells operate, work behind the scenes, and the implementation required to ensure that multiple systems are supported. This was one of the more difficult projects that I have completed so far at the University of Delaware and is considered to be the toughest project in the curriculum.

I have moderate repair experience. In high school, I built and maintained my own Prusa Mk3 3D printer which required assembly upon arrival and occasional repair. This project gives me confidence coming into this project as the 3D printer contains more complex and intricate parts than most consumer electronics do.
