Hello there! My name is Rami Yamout.
Education
I am a first-year student at York University majoring in Information technology. I have lots of passion for the programming field, and have always been interested in engines and technology.
I was around 12 years old when I felt interested in coding and electronics and found the Arduino, a computing platform for constructing and programming electronic devices, a suitable platform for me. I started studying the device language and learning MS-DOS commands to mimic the virtual operating system user interface by reading books and watching training programs on the internet. As a result, I learned that I could develop new skills when seeking knowledge from the available resources, while hard work and perseverance are other ingredients for success and achieving goals.
Aspirations
I have always found the field of science fascinating and rewarding. However, programming and coding are my passion, and I learned that I could reach more advanced and professional levels if I acquired advanced tools, knowledge, and skills. Thus, a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology has always been my dream. My knowledge about computers does not compare to the vastness of what I could learn, given that the world of computers is a never-ending learning experience and there will always be new techniques, material, directions, and strategies for me to master. Many questions remain unanswered and ideas I have yet to develop.
In the future, I would like to develop websites, mobile applications and learn more about network technologies or work at a drone manufacturer company.
Skills
My skills as a learner and seeker of knowledge and my exposure to programming languages and software allow me to develop research and inquiry skills essential to school success.
Projects/Accomplishments
I have accomplished many things during the past couple of years where I was able to build a small jet engine, 4bit RAM and other robotics related stuff. Also, I enjoy building things where I assembled all the house furniture when I moved into Canada such as beds, closets, tables and drawers.
Repair experience
I have some repair experience from watching repair specialists do their work, YouTube videos and reading manuals and blueprints to figure out how to fix a faulty object. However, I am always eager to try and fix anything that is broken or not functioning properly.
Hobbies
I usually spend most of my free time online, cycling, and star gazing using my telescope,. In addition, swimming and hunting are my core interest hobbies.
I had a bunch of baby tortoises that grew to the point I had to release them to the wilderness because they outgrew their home I made for them at my house.
