Howdy!
I'm Connor, a card-carrying member of the EDU Team here at iFixit.
About Me
I'm newer to iFixit, but also California generally. I was born and raised in colorful Colorado, where, yes, winters are cold! It's hard to beat California weather, and I sure don't miss trying to start my car in -20 °F temperatures.
I graduated from Western Colorado University in 2021 with degrees in Creative Writing and Political Science, along with a Professional Writing Certification, altogether fostering a love for precise, digestible technical communication. While studying, I was privileged to have two world-class ski resorts less than thirty minutes from my front door, and boy, did I take advantage of that.
I'm an avid snowshoer, climber, hiker, backpacker, kayaker—all things outdoors. I feel most at peace when I'm out of service!
Need a fix, man?
I've repaired a smattering of laptops, phones, GPS units, and other miscellaneous devices in my time, and have swapped more batteries than the Energizer Bunny.
I'm newer to electronic repair generally, and am more experienced in general domestic repair. I'd put down money that my father is one of the most talented handymen around; I'm pretty sure the only time he ever called a repairman was to fix our garage door, because 'those springs can rip your head off.'
Growing up, he was always pulling me away from my Legos or Lincoln Logs and showing me how to fix this or that, whether it be a refrigerator compressor, a leaking pipe hidden in devilishly pink insulation, or a twenty-year-old lawnmower pulled from the curb that 'just needs a tune-up.'
While I learned a ton from him, the most important belief he instilled in me is that you should always try to fix something yourself before thinking of trashing it or calling a repairman—unless, of course, it's a garage spring; never underestimate elastic potential energy!
