Javier Cora

Hello! My name is Javier Cora and I’m a sophomore at the University of Puerto Rico of Mayagüez (UPRM).

I’m majoring in mechanical engineering. I’m looking forward to getting hands-on experience in the field to determine what specific career path I want to take. I’m currently interested in pursuing a career in automotive or aerospace design.

I haven’t had much experience in repairs or in mechanical design, but I can understand the frustration of not being able to find a guide to fix a problem, so I’ll be happy to contribute to iFixit in any way I can.

I’m currently a member in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS).

I’m planning on joining student projects to get the hands-on experience I’m looking for.

I know Spanish as my native language, and I learned how to speak English as early as elementary school. Recently, I’ve started trying to teach myself Japanese, which has been a challenging yet fun experience.

I stopped reading novels when I graduated Highschool, but I’ve been trying to get back into it. When I have the time, I like to do pretty much anything with my friends. In my own free time, I like to play challenging video games. One of my favorites is the Lovecraftian world of the game ‘Bloodborne’.
