Hello

Iv been doing repair from a very very young age and still are to this day!

My first ever major repair was on a iPod touch 6th gen ,I showed it to many people for a laugh because of how badly it had been damaged (smashed, dented ,bent )and they all said I would never fix it and fail and to go and to throw it away!,It came from Asia (Taiwan or Thailand )I can't quite remember which one but this iPod needed help ungently.

Because of the extent of the damage it needed a new battery and screen but I was able to salvage the housing with a-lot of work , this repair taught me most of what I know today through hands on repair, soldering and much more, the repair involved fully dismantling it and repairing broken traces, lots of cleaning and lots of effort but it was a great success and I showed a lot of people that repair is doable!

looking back on my first major repair, most people start on small things but I threw my self in at the deep end and I'm glad I did!Because it gave me the courage to do waaaaay more advanced tasks such as :anything Apple(including Beats!),Dyson vacuum cleaners,Roland keyboards,Blue microphones,Sony,M-audio keyboards,Audio-Technica,GoPro and much much more!

I have continued to keep expanding my repair knowledge ,most recently I have taken up Micro-soldering which is actually what brought be here when I asked and question and was met with a overwhelmingly good responce from some very helpful people (I would name them but I am unsure if they would want that ,just respecting their privacy!)After the amazing response I started helping out on the answers forum and where translating is needed when ever I can because a problem shared is a problem halved and I want to keep things out of landfill!

I like doing repair because I don't see what I'm repairing as me repairing electronics I see it as me helping bring something back to life ,I treat all my repairs the same as if I were a doctor doing surgery on a patient(funny that as I have a fear of doctors!)which is part of the reason why I hate putting things to the dump or to the land fill where they are doomed! In my book everything deserves a second chance!

As for non repair related things I enjoy listening to music out of my old iPod classic and touch 6,I have some friends who are also a bit like that and I am always trying to improve my listening experience ,i do critical listening to music as I find it a lot of fun to listen to all the different sounds ,I also edit videos(video and music production) for my friends using my repaired things and love apple products! One last thing for this topic is I live in the UK (Scotland)and I love hill climbing and have climbed the UK's highest mountain(Ben Nevis!)It was a lot of fun and I recommend it but its hard.

As for the future I would like to do repair or something tech related a job as I find it soo much fun, but I'm still very young (under 18 but old enough to be on ifixit)so I have plenty of time to think about that when the time comes. But for now I'm going to be doing what I have been doing and keep fixing things and helping people whenever I get the chance!

Well what can I say, if you read all that you deserve a pat on the back and a vote up! :-)

Thanks for reading about what iv been up to

Thanks again:-)
