Hi, my name is Thu Pham, you can call me Kelly.
I am an international student at York University, Canada, majoring in Information Technology with a specialization in E-Commerce Development. I’m interested in creative design and human-computer interaction so I think learning IT is a great start to go further in this field. I want to be a user interface designer in the future.
My hobby
Even though I have little to none repairing experience, I have had a passion for DIY since I was a little girl. I have tried a lot of DIY methods such as knitting, embroidering, making things with beads, clay, resin and etc,.
Here are some fuse beads keychain I made for my friends.
While taking some UX/UI and interactive media classes as parts of my major, I realized my enthusiasm for creative web design. I enjoy learning how different elements and arrangements will take users to different website experience, it can be feasible and natural, or it can be a journey full of surprises. Since then, I decided to pursue the web design career.
My repairing experiences
I didn’t have much experience in repairing things except for fixing clothing. When I was 18, I went to Canada alone to go to University, that is when I started to learn building and repairing things on my own. Now I can fix and replace basic household devices, laptop and phone parts. The iFixit project is a great chance for me to learn more not only repairing skills, but also technical writing skills and more.
More about me
I was born and grew up in Vietnam. Our country is a hospitable place with lots of beautiful scenery.

Vietnam also fast-develops in commerce since goods are not expensive and easy to buy, therefore people, especially the young in the urban area buy things frequently. However, when our items are broken, it is hard to find a place that fix every little stuff we bought, and they ususally end up being trash. The iFixit project introduces me to such a great website to learn and share repairing techniques. Contributing to the iFixit community and is a great way for me to spread the meaningful mission of iFixit to help reduce waste to all over the world.
