Introduction
My Kobo Aura One has had the screen fail… looking at the way it is assembled, it is not very repairable.
I was not able to track down a replacement LCD panel/digitizer/front for this unit, so not sure on if I will be able to do anything with it. I have added the teardown of what I have done.

Parts
-
-
Opening up the back cover using opening tools. It is held on using double sided tape
-
The connectors were covered with some sort of stuff which was rubbery hot glue, which had to be removed from it.
-
Careful of the connectors. Bottom 2 ribbons are for the touchscreen, one on the right is the wifi antenna.
-
The LCD connector is the large ribbon
-
The battery connector is in the top left.
-
4 Ph0 screws hold the circuit board into the case
-
-
-
The front is tricky to remove, as the digitizer is adhered to the front panel, and is also stuck to the digital ink screen, which is adhered to the inner frame.
-
I was able to seperate the Digitizer/front bezel from the LCD, but there is white flakes, and marks on the cracked LCD (cracks was why it failed)

My Kobo Aura One charging port makes intermittent connect with the charging cable connector. How can I get into it and at least examine and find out what might be involved in replacing the port?
Thanks

I have added the details and pictures... I am not sure if it is repairable, and might be easier to just replace the board. Taking off the back panel will get access to the circuit board.

I could not get my hands on the replacement screen, so haven't cone anything... The circuit board can be accessed by removing the back panel.

There’s a video on YouTube (in French) on how to disassemble the Kobo Aura One here:
