Introduction

This guide is made to show you how to replace a super capacitor battery from the Toguard C200 model. If you are experiencing difficulties charging the camera or keeping the camera on even after charging it, a battery replacement should fix the problem.

Note: This C200 dash cam needs to be connected to a 5V 2A external power supply when in use to stay powered on.

    • Notice the connection of + and - on the top left side of the inside of the dash cam. Make note of this as it will be important to remember when you solder on the new battery

    • Desolder the old battery.

    • Heat the solder by using the soldering iron until it starts to melt. Try nudging the pins with the soldering iron to move the solder away from the joints. Pull the components you want to remove with the pliers.

    • Solder the new battery and make sure the + and - wires correctly match the motherboard. (Any super capacitor of 200mAh or higher will work)

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
