Introduction

This is a step-by-step guide to disassembling and replacing the flash in the Sony Cyber-shot camera.

I need tô replace my Sony P100 infernal batery.

Remove the five screws shown using a Phillips #00 Screwdriver.
It is important to put the small screws in a safe location in order to reassemble the casing.

Carefully separate the front casing from the camera body.
CAUTION: Be careful not to break the wire connecting the front casing and the camera.

Using tweezers, gently pull the ribbon trace out of its housing found on the left side of the flash.

Using a spudger, pry the small latch between the lens and the flash open to release the flash.
Pull the flash away from the camera.
