Introduction
The hose of the Shark Rocket HV301 may need to be replaced if a hole has been worn into it. This can cause weak suction and for your vacuum to not operate properly. If this is the case, follow this guide to replace the hose on your HV301. This guide may also be used to disconnect your hose to remove a blockage.

-
Place the base of the vacuum face down so the roller brush is facing you.
-
Locate the five screws and remove the screws using a Phillips #1 screwdriver. On some models, the screws may be Torx T4 instead of Phillips.
-
On some models, you may need to remove the two screws next to the big wheels, under the top two circled screws in the picture, with a Torx T3 screwdriver.
-
-
-
Locate and remove the two small wheels below the roller brush by prying with a plastic prying tool.
-
-
-
Locate and twist the three plastic screws to the unlock position with a quarter or flathead screwdriver.
-
Pull up on the plate covering the roller brush and remove it.
-
On some models, you may need to remove 3 additional screws under the roller brush cover with a Torx T4 screwdriver. (Not pictured.)
-
-
-
Turn the vacuum over so the roller brush is on the ground.
-
Grab the vacuum on both sides of the hose and pull up to remove the top of the vacuum halfway.
-
It may help to slip opening picks in the edge between the gray cover and the orange and clear base sections.
-
-
-
Gently pinch head of cable and pull upwards until upper casing disconnects from vacuum and proceed with removing upper casing.
-
Return the vacuum to its original position with the roller brush facing you.
-
Locate the screw to the right of the vacuum hose, close to the right wheel, and remove the screw with a Phillips #2 screwdriver.
-
Note: some models may not include this screw.
-
-
-
Pull on the dark gray end of the hose that attaches to the roller brush chamber to remove the hose from the base.
-
Unscrew the hose from the dark gray end by twisting it clockwise.
-
Unscrew the hose out of the chamber that attaches the stick to the base by twisting it clockwise. The hose is glued into the chamber, so this may require some force.

Great instructions, now where do I get the replacement hose. I can't seem to find one anywhere, please tell be where to look
Rob the hose from the hard floor attachment, you probably do not use it as at low speed the brush head is awesome on hard floors.
I found a hose that is a perfect fit. EVERBILT 6 ft Bilge and Pump Discharge Hose. 1-1/8 inch ID. Got it at Home Depot.
How did you get the hose from Home Depot to work? I’d like to try it, and I was hoping you would give some advice.
Thank you so much for this recommendation! The Everbilt Bilge and Pump hose works perfectly!!! And now I have back up if I need to replace it again.
Thank you for the instructions as well Shelby! So much better than spending another $50 on a replacement head!
I’m just seeing this in 2023. I was at Home Depot looking for hoses that what work . I literally had the hose you mentioned in my hand when I read your comment! Thank you for posting !
Oh, why do you recommend removing the screw to the right of the wheel? Seems unnecessary. And the beginning it is definitely not necessary to remove those little wheels. Strange you even mentioned them as completely unrelated

For my model, "HV301 26", these 5 screws were Torx T4. I also had to remove the 2 screws next to the big wheels (right under the top two circled screws in the picture). Those 2 additional screws were Torx T3.
