Introduction

If your Ryobi RS290G does nothing when you engage the switch trigger, it could be caused by the switch trigger malfunctioning, use this guide to replace your switch trigger.

The switch trigger for the Ryobi RS290G is used to activate the electric motor which then starts orbiting the sandpaper. If the motor does not engage when you push the trigger switch there may be an electrical or mechanical failure, which can accrue from an accidental drop, water damage, or just excess use.

Before starting your switch trigger replacement, make sure power is disconnected.
