Introduction

The Ricoh Super 8 800z operates using a 8mm film cartridge. Inside this film cartridge is a reel with an 8mm film. The hooks you will be replacing are what latches on to and rotates this reel.

    • Open the device's film cartridge door by pulling the release switch towards the eyepiece.

    • Lay the device with the left side down and the door open to allow access to the film cartridge hooks.

    • Using a Phillips #000 screwdriver, remove one of the screws from the rotating hooks in the center of the film bay.

    • Be sure to hold down the opposite side of the hooks with a finger to prevent it from spinning.

    • Now put your finger on the side of the screw you just removed, and take out the remaining screw with a Phillips #000 screwdriver.

    • Using your fingers, gently remove the film cartridge hooks.
