Introduction

If the front slider on the camera is cracked or broken, use this guide to remove and replace it.

This guide is also a prerequisite for disassembling other parts of the camera in order to prevent damage to the slider, and to make dis-assembly easier.

  1. Yc1VTyD5QaPrKM22
    • Locate the 2 screws on the bottom of the slider.

    • Remove both screws with a #00 Phillips screwdriver.

  2. jPoNwM3Kc6tu2S4S
    • Gently pull on the bottom of the slider until it comes off the lower track.

    • There is a little piece that connects the slider to the track. Be sure not to lose this as it is needed to put the slider back on.

  3. Pw1vHRZpNjXv5wH2
    • Lift the slider up until it comes off the upper track.

  4. yQQ2PnOCwLW5goM5
    • The slider should now be free from the body of the camera.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Camera would not turn on nor lens extend. Took slider off per instructions and cleaned the switch and was able to rotate switch back and forth to turn camera on and off by hand. Reassembled slider and could turn camera on but not off. Disassembled again and find the rotating switch is permanently stuck in counter clockwise position and cannot be activated by hand. I do not want to force the switch because it did operate very easy. What can be the trouble?
