Removing the battery is a necessary prerequisite step in all Nikon Coolpix AW130 repairs. Failing to complete this step prior to replacing the LED screen or shutter button, for example, may result in electrical shock. No tools are required.

    • Using your thumb and pointer finger, open the card/battery hatch by pressing the center button of the wheel and turning the entire wheel to the left.

    • When reassembling, you must turn this wheel to the right until it clicks.

    • You should feel the door begin to loosen. Carefully pull the hatch open.

    • After pressing the yellow tab, the battery should loosen.

    • Slowly pull the battery completely out.

Try the following before ordering your battery :

The problem with my cool pix aw130 was the little yellow plastic tab ( seen in one of the above photos ; step 3 ) that supposed to keep the battery shoved tightly against the terminals . In time , it wears and the battery no longer makes contact ; hence never getting recharged . The fix is simple ! Cut a 1/4” x 1/4” piece of paper , cardboard , or plastic , and wedge it between the yellow tab and the battery . Then recharge , as before .
